Parco naturale La Mandria

Il Parco naturale La Mandria è situato tra il torrente Stura di Lanzo, il torrente Ceronda e l'area urbanizzata a nord-ovest di Torino e di Venaria Reale. È stato istituito nel 1978 dalla Regione Piemonte. 
De La Mandria è importante segnalare come essa sia organizzata al suo interno: visitando i suoi lunghi viali appositamente aperti per regalare "giornate nel verde" ai cittadini che volessero visitarla, si possono trovare punti di ristoro, quali il ristorante posto presso la cascina Prato Pascolo, cascine con cavalli, come la cascina Vittoria ed il Centro Internazionale del cavallo alla Cascina Rubianetta, spiazzi attrezzati con tavoli per pic nic e infine alcuni punti, segnalati su apposite mappe presenti all'interno del parco, dediti al noleggio di biciclette (a Prato Pascolo all'interno del Parco ed all'entrata di Druento vicino ai parcheggi) e quant'altro possa essere utile per visitare i parchi. Accanto ai sentieri più frequentati ne sono presenti altri meno battuti particolarmente adatti per l'osservazione delle specie vegetali ed animali autoctone del parco. L'attività di osservazione faunistica è intensissima e si può dire che non ci sia ragazzo torinese che non abbia passato almeno una giornata nel Parco usufruendo dei programmi formativi organizzati dalle guide naturalistiche. Vi è poi, nella parte privata del Parco, una serie di attività espressamente dedicate alla natura ed all'ambiente. Esse si raggiungono varcando il cancello sul perimetro del Parco, nella parte privata dalla parte di Fiano, a qualche minuto dalla Reggia di Venaria, ci si ritrova su viale Bella Rosina che, attraverso un bosco secolare,porta ad una grande tenuta dove sorgono un hotel 4 stelle, un ristorante e una beauty farm ricavati dall’attento restauro di un casolare risalente al XVIIIsecolo. In questa preziosa zona di riserva verde di circa 25 ettari posta nella parte terminale del Parco della Mandria verso Lanzo, dove è frequente la visita di daini, cervi e volpi, sorgeva già a partire dalla metà degli anni ‘90 un'azienda agricola, il cui obiettivo era di ottenere, attraverso tecniche e processi colturali rispettosi della Natura il recupero di semi di colture orticole ormai introvabili tra cui il piemontesissimo Pomodoro Re Umberto. La struttura vive nel pieno rispetto del rapporto Uomo-Natura grazie ad un ampio proposito di azioni, mirate alla salvaguardia ambientale. Tra le più significative: impianto di riscaldamento con pannelli solari, smaltimento dei rifiuti organici tramite un sistema di fitodepurazione, azioni e messaggi rivolti agli Ospiti per segnalare quale potrebbe essere il loro fattivo contributo al programma di aiuto all’ambiente. Ampiamente utilizzati materiali ecologici: dalla carta alle biro in plastica biodegradabile e cartone riciclato, all'uso di detergenti per pulizia a basso impatto ambientale, ai prodotti utilizzati nel ristorante e provenienti, secondo stagione, dalla stessa azienda agricola della Tenuta, fino all'impiego di creme a base di principi biodinamici certificati, all’interno della beauty farm e alla raccolta differenziata dei rifiuti e al loro riciclo attraverso i dettami della certificazione Ecolabel. Nelle vicinanze si trovano il Royal Park Golf Club e Circolo Golf Torino, due dei golf club più quotati in Italia.

Natural Park La Mandria

The natural park La Mandria is placed between the torrent Stura di Lanzo, the torrent Ceronda and the urbanised area at north-west of Turin and of Venaria Reale. It was established in 1978 by the Region of Piedmont.
It is important to inform about La Mandria internal organisation: visiting its long boulevards specifically open to give “days in the green” to the citizens who want to visit it, you can find restoration points, such as the restaurant placed at the Prato Pascolo farmstead, farmsteads with horses, such as the Vittoria farmstead and the International Horse Centre at the Rubianetta farmstead, equipped areas with pic-nick tables and finally some points, marked on specific maps placed inside the park, dedicated to the bike rent (in Prato Pascolo, inside the park and at the Druento access near the parking lots) and anything can be useful to visit the parks. Near the most visited paths there are other ones, less visited, particularly suitable to the plant and animal species observation. The fauna observation activity is very intense, and it can be said that there isn’t any child from Turin that didn’t spend at least a day in the park enjoying the formative programmes organised by the naturalistic guides . Then, in the private part of the park, a wide range of activities expressly dedicated to the nature and to the environment. They can be reached accessing to the park by the gate on the park’s perimeter on the private side in Fiano, some minute far from Venaria’s realm, you are in Bella Rosina boulevard which, towards a centuries-old wood, brings you to a big mansion where you can find a 4 stars hotel, a restaurant and a beauty farm obtained thanks to the careful refurbishment of a farmhouse dating back to 18th century. This precious green reserve zone of about 25 hectares of surface, placed on the final part of Parco la Mandria near to Lanzo, where deers, bucks and foxes are frequently seen, already arose in middle 1990s a farmstead, of which purpose was to obtain, through natural processes and techniques, the rescue of extremely rare seeds such as the one the very piedmontese Re Umberto tomato. The structure is fully respectful of the relationship between human and nature, thanks to a wide range of actions, aiming to the environmental safety. Between the most important ones: installation of solar panels heating, organic wastes’ disposal through a herbal purification system, actions and messages addressed to the guests in order to inform them about their possible active contribution to the environment’s help plan. The ecologic material are amply used: starting from the paper, to the pens made of biodegradable-plastic and recycled cardboard, to the use of low environmental impact cleansers, to the products used in the restaurant coming from, basing on the season, the same farmstead in the mansion, until the use of creams with biodynamic basics, inside the beauty farm, and the wastes’ separate collection for their recycling based on the Ecolabel certification’s precepts. In the nearby you can find the Royal Park Golf Club and Circolo Golf Torino, two of the most esteemed golf clubs in Italy.
